Talbot Hotel 'Sporting Hero' Award for September 2011

The Tinryland Senior Football Team has been awarded the Talbot Hotel and KCLR96FM 'Sporting Hereos' award for September 2011

Tinryland are the second GAA team to be honoured, the Carlow Senior Football team were given the award in June in recognition of their acheivement of getting to a Leinster Semi Final. Similarly Tinryland has waited 20 years to get back into a Carlow Senior County Final

Its 1992 since the team have got to this stage of the competition, and while the game against Old Leighlin takes place on the 16th October, Manager Martin Murphy is under no illusion what lies ahead

A lot of work has been put in over the years in the club from the underage right up to the seniors, and while the award itself is for the Senior Footballers in recognition of the whole club and the work that goes on there
