Father & Son Win KCLR & Talbot Hotel Carlow Sporting Heroes Award

The winner of the September award is Willie and Niall Quinlan. The father and son both lined out for the Eire Og Junior A football team in the county final recently and both men scored as Eire Og defeated Old Leighlin.

Willie will be well known to KCLR listeners as Carlow football analyst on KCLR.

There were only a few votes between them and the next nominees the Corcoran brothers of Erins Own Hurling Club in the End. David, John and Alan Corcoran all helped their side into this years Senior hurling final in Carlow with Alan having come back from injury to start the semi-final.

The other nominees were the Coady brothers of Mount Leinster Rangers who's record speaks for itself with no less than four featuring in the senior hurling demi final. Edward, John, Richard and Paul all played their part in getting Rangers into the county final.
