The Winner of the October KCLR & Talbot Hotel Carlow Sporting Heroes Award is Ciara Quirke
Ciara Quirke is an 18 year-old Leaving Cert student in Borris Vocational School and lives in Ballymartin, Borris. Her mother, Nuala Quirke, has won over 30 Senior Camogie medals. Ciara, her sister Niamh and mother Nuala all play Camogie together for Myshall and sometimes Carlow.
Ciara won an All-Ireland medel with the Carlow Senior Camogie Team this year after they beat Kerry in the All-Ireland Junior B Camogie Final. She was one of 4 girls from Borris Vocational School on that All-Ireland winning team.
Ciara also picked up a Leinster Final runners up medal with the Carlow Minors against Laois. She picked up an All-Ireland medal with Myshall a few weeks ago when they won the All-Ireland Junior Club final against Four Roads of Roscommon.
